Lake Michigan Beach Retreat

Come and enjoy beautiful Lake Michigan views at The Beach Retreat, our cozy vacation cottage tucked away at the end of Montgomery Boulevard. You’re only 100 yards from the beach, which you can access using a private pathway – spend the day playing in the waves and sand or lounge the afternoon away soaking in the sun. Walk only a mile north and you’ll find the Bass Lake outlet, a popular swimming spot where the warm water of Bass Lake flows into Lake Michigan; or, if you’re feeling a little more adventurous, you can walk about two miles down the beach to Pentwater’s Mears State park, then head into town for ice cream or shopping, or possibly a band concert at the community bandshell on the green! A clean and rustic summer rental house nestled back in the trees. The main floor features a bedroom with a queen sized bed, a full bath, fully-equipped kitchen (but we suggest bringing paper plates, because who wants to do dishes on vacation?), and living and dining areas. Sliding doors lead out to the spacious front deck where you’ll be able to see fantastic views of the spectacular Lake MIchigan sunsets. Upstairs you’ll find plenty of sleeping room, with two full-sized beds and a twin inflatable mattress, a half bath, and a cozy little “treehouse” balcony that provides the perfect place to relax in the afternoon breeze and watch the boats on the lake. Added rainy-day amenities include lots of board games and puzzles, and some of the more modern conveniences like cable, DVD player, wi-fi, and a washing machine. There is a short flight of stairs leading up to the front porch, but the first floor is completely accessible without stairs through the back entrance. Smaller pets are welcome for a nominal charge (with approval, up to about 20 lbs.) but please no smoking.

It’s only a 10 minute drive to Pentwater, a picturesque beach village with lots of summertime events and activities (don’t miss the homecoming parade in early August!), or you can head north about 20 minutes to the “Big City” of Ludington, where you’ll find more extensive shopping and dining choices as well as fun activities and events. There are 9 public golf courses within a 30 minute drive (there’s even a disc golf course!), and plenty of other nearby off-the-beach activities for those who are so inclined. Book your relaxing vacation week today — you’re sure to love the historic charm of this quaint A-frame Lake Michigan cottage!
